PASSENGER CODE OF CONDUCT: Guidelines for a pleasant transit experienceBe Safe
- Follow all local health and safety ordinances for your protection and the well-being of other passengers
- Keep your distance from the curb as the bus approaches and wait for the bus to come to a complete stop before boarding
- Personal shopping carts and baby carriages can be carried on board, away from the aisles, and stored under/between seats whenever possible
- Don’t interfere with the operator while the bus is in motion
- Report emergency issues to the operator in a safe manner
- Stand behind the “standee line” when the bus is in motion
Be Prepared
- Change cards are provided when exact fare is not possible and can be used for future trips. Exact fare is preferred
- Transfers are intended for single trips in one direction using multiple buses
- Arriving five minutes early at the designated stop is encouraged
- Passengers with reduced or free fare must show a proper and valid ID
- Gather all your personal belongings and exit through rear doors
- Unforeseen circumstances that are beyond the operator’s control may result in service delays
Be Courteous
Please allow those with mobility impediments to board first
- Listen to music using earphones or headphones so everyone can enjoy their ride
- Don’t engage in disruptive, disturbing or threatening behavior (including the use of profanity or insulting language)
- Priority seating is reserved for passengers with disabilities and the elderly
- If you want to bring your pet along, be sure it’s securely housed in a carrier
- Help keep the bus and facilities clean by picking up your trash and cleaning spills
Things to keep in mind
Consumption of alcoholic beverages or illicit drugs is strictly prohibited on any Sun Metro bus, streetcar or in any facility
- Consumption of food is not allowed on any Sun Metro bus or streetcar
- Expulsion of chewing gum on Sun Metro property, including sidewalks, is prohibited
- Smoking, vaping or the expulsion of any tobacco residue, including chewing tobacco, is strictly prohibited on all Sun Metro buses, streetcars and in any Sun Metro facility
- Service animals as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act are allowed
- Soliciting and/or distribution of literature is not allowed on any Sun Metro property or bus
- Passengers who destroy Sun Metro property will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law
