Downtown Sun Metro Routes Return to Regular Route Service

El Paso, Texas – Six Sun Metro routes in the downtown area that had been impacted by the Streetcar construction zone are returning to their regular route service effective immediately.

Mesa Brio will resume its original boarding location on Santa Fe Street near the downtown transfer center on Monday, March 20, 2017.

Routes 10, 11, 14, 15, 70, and 75 will no longer be detouring on Mesa Street and will return to their original routes on Oregon Street providing service from the Downtown Transfer Center to the Glory Road Transfer Center.

Supervisors and notifications are on site to inform passengers of the change as Sun Metro passengers may have grown accustomed to the detours on Mesa Street after nine months.

Routes impacted:

Route 10 – Sunset Heights/UTEP
Route 10 offers service between the Downtown Transfer Center, Sunset Heights and UTEP every day. Other points of interest include the El Paso Convention Center, El Paso Visitor's Bureau, the Sunset Heights District, EPCC Rio Grande Campus, Las Palmas Medical Center, Providence Memorial Hospital and the Glory Road Transfer Center.
 
Route 11 – Mesita Via Kern Place
Route 11 runs every day between the Downtown Transfer Center and the Camelot Apartments, passing through UTEP and the Mesita area. Other points of interest include the El Paso Convention Center, El Paso Visitor's Bureau, the Sunset Heights District, EPCC Rio Grande Campus, Las Palmas Medical Center, Providence Memorial Hospital and the Glory Road Transfer Center.
 
Route 14 – Westwind
Route 14 runs along Mesa, with daily service between the Downtown Transfer Center, EPCC, UTEP, the Glory Road Transfer Center, Sunland Park Mall and Redd at Westwind. Other points of interest include El Paso Public Library Main Branch, The Museum of History, Las Palmas Hospital, Providence Hospital, and the Don Haskins Center.
 
Route 15 – Mesa
Route 15 offers daily service between the Downtown Transfer Center, Glory Road Transfer Center and Westside Transfer Center via Mesa, allowing passengers another option for getting to UTEP, EPCC and central hospitals.
 
Route 70 – University Express
Route 70 is an express route offering service Monday–Friday during Fall and Spring Semesters with designated stops from the Eastside Terminal to the Glory Road Transfer Center along I-10, Oregon and Mesa. Points of interest include Cielo Vista Mall, EPCC Rio Grande Campus, Las Palmas Hospital, Providence Hospital and UTEP.
 
Route 75 – Rc Poe/Glory Road Express
Route 75 provides express service from far east El Paso to UTEP. The route runs from the RC Poe Park+Ride to the Glory Road Transfer Center with limited stops for Sun Metro's Transit Operations Center on Montana, downtown, EPCC Rio Grande Campus, downtown hospitals and the Glory Road Transfer Center Monday-Friday during AM and PM peak hours only.
 
Mesa Brio
Mesa Brio is the innovative, faster and more effective transportation option since 2014. It provides service from the Downtown Transfer Center and travel along Santa Fe, Franklin, Oregon, Glory Road, and Mesa, to the Westside Transfer Center on Remcon.
