Beat the Heat with Sun Metro

EL PASO, Texas – As the summer heat wave rolls in with maximum summer temperatures exceeding 100 degrees over the next consecutive days, riders can enjoy the air conditioning on board with Sun Metro and the El Paso Streetcar service.
With such high temperatures, anyone is at risk for heat related illnesses, including heat exhaustion and heat stroke. This is especially true for young children, older adults, individuals with chronic health conditions and anyone spending significant time outdoors.
We highly encourage riders to purchase their passes inside our air-conditioned transit centers located around town.
  • Downtown Transit Center (601 Santa Fe)
  • Westside Transit Center (7535 Remcon)
  • Mission Valley Transit Center (9065 Alameda)
  • Five Points Transit Center (2830 Montana)
  • Glory Road Transit Center (100 E. Glory Road)
  • Eastside Transit Center (1165 Sunmount)
  • Northgate Transit Center (9348 Dyer)

Sun Metro offers weekly and monthly passes and reduced fares for people with disabilities, students and military that are also valid for rides on the streetcar.

El Paso Streetcar rides are free through Labor Day (Monday, September 2) courtesy of sponsors El Paso Chamber of El Paso Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Management District, and the DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton in downtown.
