Alternative Accessible Formats

By ADA law, our public transit system must make its communication and information available to individuals with disabilities through the use of accessible formats and technology (e.g., braille, large print, computer disk, etc) to enable existing and potential passengers to obtain adequate information about transportation services and the ability to schedule them. If you require any of the information we have in alternate format, please contact [email protected].

Public Accommodation

A public entity must reasonably modify its policies, practices or procedures to avoid discrimination against persons with disabilities, unless a particular modification would fundamentally alter the nature of its service, program or activity. As a passenger, if there’s reasonable accommodation Sun Metro can make to allow you access to our transportation services, please let us know by contacting Sun Metro: ATTN ADA Coordinator. For more information, visit www.ada.gov.

Priority Seating

If a bus is filled to capacity, a driver is not required to remove other passengers from the bus in order to make room for additional persons with disabilities. However, the driver would still be required to request that persons without disabilities vacate priority seating locations they may be occupying. Additionally, there’s a City of El Paso ordinance (City Code 6.08.060) that prohibits using the priority seating on our fixed route buses by someone who is not an elderly person or someone with a disability.
